About the Role
Join the Campaigns team as a Senior Software Engineer to build the infrastructure for creating, scheduling, and delivering multi-channel messages on our platform. This hands-on role involves contributing to architecture and implementation, designing robust systems, and writing high-quality code for scalable, reliable, and maintainable services that power core campaign capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement core systems for creating, configuring, and scheduling multi-channel campaigns.
- Build systems to assemble finalized campaign content from creatives, templates, and targeting rules.
- Own the layer responsible for preparing and monitoring campaigns for delivery, ensuring visibility and alerting for failures or delays.
- Collaborate to integrate audience segmentation and personalization signals into campaign targeting.
- Develop flexible systems for adding new campaign types, channels, and scheduling rules with minimal overhead.
- Maintain high system reliability through observability, metrics, alerting, and shared on-call responsibilities.
- Take ownership of complex backend features from technical design through production support.
- Advocate for strong code quality, testing, and system health, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Experience building and maintaining large distributed systems at scale that are fault tolerant and highly concurrent.
- Exemplary software engineering skills (design, unit testing, git, code review, CI/CD).
- Strong foundation in modern backend development (e.g. Python, Ruby).
- Strong experience with relational databases, schema design, and query optimization (PostgreSQL).
- Understanding of common web based API architectures (RESTful, GraphQL) and technologies (gRPC).
- Experience with a cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP - Google Cloud Platform).
- Experience with modern distributed and microservice technologies (Kubernetes, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Familiar with Software Development Lifecycle practices, such as continuous integration/continuous delivery and automated deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions).
- Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to collaborate, communicate effectively, advocate appropriately, and mentor junior engineers.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, including the ability to efficiently identify, analyze, and resolve complex issues, and communicate solutions to the team.
- A willingness and eagerness to continuously learn, adapt to evolving technologies, and strive for personal and professional improvement.
