About the Role
FTI Consulting's Data Analytics & AI team collaborates with leading Australian organizations in healthcare, transport, government, and mining to solve critical problems and improve community outcomes. As a graduate, you will contribute to meaningful projects from day one, impacting real people and organizations through service reviews and strategic analyses.
Responsibilities
- Support the design and delivery of end-to-end analytics solutions, from problem framing and data acquisition to modeling, insight generation, and executive-level storytelling.
- Understand, cleanse, and analyze client data for visualization and modeling, organizing information to facilitate effective analysis.
- Contribute to the development of robust cloud-based data pipelines and platforms.
- Apply machine learning or statistical methods (regression, classification, clustering, forecasting, NLP, etc.) to real business problems.
- Develop advanced analytics and complex system models, such as discrete event and agent-based simulations, systems dynamics, or optimization.
- Understand how to leverage LLMs and generative AI in a business context for clients and personal work.
- Develop dashboards and analytics solutions that generate measurable business value and are built to last.
- Prepare materials for client meetings, workshops, interviews, and stakeholder consultations.
- Capture and synthesize stakeholder feedback from consultations with executives, clinicians, operational leaders, frontline staff, consumers, and sector partners.
- Develop clear, practical insights and recommendations to help clients improve service planning, delivery, governance, and measurement.
- Assist with the preparation of reports, presentations, business cases, implementation plans, and other client deliverables.
- Support project management activities, including planning, tracking actions, managing risks, and coordinating inputs across the project team.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Analytics).
- Hands-on experience with modern analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Python, R, Sql, Alteryx, PowerBI, Tableau) and/or cloud tools (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks).
- Experience leveraging AI tools such as Machine Learning and LLMs to solve problems.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to work with data, evidence, and ambiguity.
- Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and an eagerness to learn and grow skills across the data landscape.
- Good lateral thinking and enjoyment in solving problems using data.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, practical messages.
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills, including confidence working with different stakeholders.
- Empathy, professionalism, and respect when working with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Work experience, internships, volunteering, or relevant project experience in a data or cloud-focused area is beneficial but not essential.
- This role may require travel to client and FTI offices.
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia.
