About the Role

FTI Consulting Australia Forensic & Litigation Consulting brings together experts from a range of disciplines to solve complex problems for clients facing legal or regulatory threats, or involved in sale-of-business transactions. The role involves providing financial expertise to complex litigation and arbitration matters, conducting contentious and non-contentious business valuations, investigating financial dealings, and building frameworks to minimize financial risks.

Responsibilities

  • Quantify loss and damage in commercial disputes, including reviewing business records, performing financial analysis, and creating financial models
  • Execute a wide range of valuation engagements, including company and industry analysis, reviewing accounting data and performing financial and comparable company analysis
  • Undertake investigations, including fraud, misconduct and regulatory compliance engagements, by analysing a range of financial and non-financial sources, and documenting the processes undertaken and findings made
  • Work with large data sets, including utilizing data analytical tools
  • Support day-to-day engagement execution, including interaction with clients, financiers, auditors, tax advisors and legal advisors
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and presentations
  • Contribute to company initiatives and team development activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree majoring in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Curiosity, an inquisitive mindset and a passion for solving problems, even when faced with limited information, uncertainty and ambiguity
  • Soft skills, such as empathy and respect: the ability to understand and recognise clients’ needs and work well with our people
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex financial information
  • Ability to work in a team and autonomously
  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Must include an updated resume and most relevant & recent transcript, setting out accounting and finance-related scores
