About the Role

Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Security Officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support residents, staff, and visitors through strong customer service and communication while reflecting a caring culture, teamwork, reliability, innovation, and integrity in every interaction.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control practices, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns according to site protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and perimeter, observing for unusual activity, unsecured areas, and conditions that could impact daily operations.
Monitor entry and exit activity, verify authorized access when required, and help to deter unauthorized persons from entering restricted or staff-only areas.
Support a respectful environment within the shelter location by communicating clearly with residents and guests, assisting with directions, and escalating security-related issues to site leadership and/or emergency services when appropriate.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
