Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Security Officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support residents, staff, and visitors through strong customer service and communication while reflecting a caring culture, teamwork, reliability, innovation, and integrity in every interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control practices, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and perimeter, observing for unusual activity, unsecured areas, and conditions that could impact daily operations.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, verify authorized access when required, and help to deter unauthorized persons from entering restricted or staff-only areas.
  • Support a respectful environment within the shelter location by communicating clearly with residents and guests, assisting with directions, and escalating security-related issues to site leadership and/or emergency services when appropriate.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
