About the Role

As a Field Service Technician, you are the front line of Simco-Ion Technology’s customer interaction through delivering efficient field support. This position operates from home, traveling to various customer plants in the semiconductor, electronics, and medical manufacturing industries, supporting the sales and services of company products while exceeding customer expectations through installation and maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance customer satisfaction by providing exceptional customer service.
  • Complete installation of components and low voltage wiring on customer ceilings, typically in cleanroom environments.
  • Install localized and in-tool ionization equipment.
  • Complete maintenance of several types of static control systems.
  • Schedule visits and installations directly with customers.
  • Follow work instructions from the service manager or senior field technician on projects; may occasionally complete smaller jobs on individual trips.
  • Document and report all service-related activities in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Generate various customer reports.
  • Exercise safe working practices and procedures at all times.
  • Work weekends and/or evenings depending on company needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with hand tools and good hand dexterity.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret technical information involving mechanics and electronics, including schematic and electrical diagrams.
  • Basic knowledge of low voltage electrical systems.
  • Focus on Quality.
  • Strong customer service/relations skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage difficult and high-pressure customer situations.
  • Good time management, prioritization, and follow-up skills.
  • Tolerance for working in stressful situations and environments.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
  • Sense of urgency with the drive and motivation to take action and prioritize daily tasks.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Trade school certificate or associate’s degree in maintenance or electronics related area preferred.
  • Experience in the Construction industry preferred, with 2+ years of experience.
  • Previous experience in cleanroom environments.
  • Constantly required to talk, hear, twist/turn, reach outward, handle/manipulate and grasp objects, stand, walk, and bend.
  • Frequently reach above shoulders and occasionally type, climb, crawl or squat.
  • Must carry up to 50 pounds constantly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Must push and pull up to 10 pounds constantly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Specific vision abilities required include concentrated attention, close vision, far vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to bring objects into sharp focus.
  • Comfortable working from ladders and scaffolding with ceiling heights up to 18 feet.
  • Excellent hand dexterity.
  • Frequent exposure to machinery and loud noise.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
