About the Role
Contrarian Thinking Capital is seeking an investor to manage dealflow, conduct end-to-end diligence, craft investment memos, and support portfolio companies. This partner-track role is central to the investment team, collaborating with General Partners and other departments.

Requirements
- Entrepreneurial background with experience building or operating a business, running a P&L, or holding operational responsibility
- Experience in consulting or banking is a plus
- Ability to underwrite, including comfort with financial models and unit economics
- Skill in generating dealflow through relationship building
- Genuine curiosity about unglamorous industries such as waste management, HVAC, metal fabrication, and facilities services
- Strong judgment and conviction, with the ability to form independent views and be a dissenting voice
- Willingness to perform fieldwork, including facility tours, reviewing data rooms, and conducting customer calls
- Ability to write and think clearly, constructing well-reasoned investment memos
- Ability to take ownership without waiting for permission or a process
- Ability to give and take direct feedback constructively
- Curiosity about how things work at an atomic level, especially in less glamorous areas
- Desire to build something in a small team where judgment visibly impacts outcomes
