About the Role

As part of the VANTAGE team, this role involves conducting media research, utilizing databases, primary documents, and other sources to identify reputational and criminal issues, ultimate beneficial ownership, complex corporate structures, and potential political and sanctions exposure. The primary task is to review, coordinate, and concisely report findings from OSINT and HUMINT research within tight deadlines. This role requires a meticulous eye for detail, the ability to make sense of complex information, and a clear, crisp writing style, all while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a range of due diligence assignments, including corporate compliance/ABAC/ESG and financial crime/IPO/KYC projects.
  • Conduct media and database research using complex search criteria and a strict methodology.
  • Liaise with in-country source networks to obtain compliance-related information not available via OSINT.
  • Analyze search results within the project and country context.
  • Distill conclusions and identify indirect connections from research findings.
  • Rate findings based on standard or tailored risk assessment methodologies.
  • Summarize all relevant findings in a report.
  • Brief and present findings to internal colleagues when required.
  • Collaborate with team members across the firm to deliver joint projects.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of research techniques, databases, networks, online registers, archives, and general internet research.
  • Knowledge of the business, political, and social context of a geographical area.
  • Native or equivalent fluency in English and Arabic and Kurdish.
  • Excellence in research and writing in English.
  • Clear communication style.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics verbally and in writing effectively.
  • Ability to summarize large amounts of information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to tight deadlines.
  • Curiosity, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Demonstrated professional experience.
  • Fluency in an additional language.
