About the Role

As a Financial Operations Analyst, you will play a vital part in ensuring the financial health of Cayuga Health System. You will be responsible for analyzing financial data, streamlining processes, and contributing to the overall success of our health system by providing detail-oriented reports and analytics that will drive performance improvements across business units.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and present findings to key stakeholders.
  • Utilize financial systems to create and maintain accurate records.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide insights into budgetary discrepancies.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the hospital's cost accounting system.
  • Participate with consultants on organizational initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the accuracy of financial information.
  • Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and regulations.
  • Develop innovative strategies to improve operational efficiency.
  • Stay up to date with financial technologies and software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in financial operations, analysis and/or budgeting.
  • Financial modeling skills: Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze scenarios and provide insights into the financial impact of various initiatives.
  • Experience in advanced data analytics tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with healthcare systems, processes, and terminology.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving department within a larger organization, adapting quickly to changes and challenges.
  • Ability to champion creative solutions and welcome out-of-the-box thinking to drive continuous improvement.
  • Focus on achieving tangible results on time, even in organizational complexities.
  • Ability to drive a results-oriented culture within the department, setting and exceeding ambitious goals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a manner that transcends organizational silos, ensuring clear and concise messaging.
  • Highly organized individual with excellent problem-solving skills and an aptitude for numbers.
  • Familiarity with KPIs, OKRs, NPR, and SQL.
  • Adept at using financial systems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret financial data with precision.
  • Self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Creative thinker with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work in order to meet internal deadlines.
  • Must remain stationary in a seated position 50% or more of the time.
  • May occasionally need to move light objects up to 20 pounds.
