About the Role
Safely operates a tractor-trailer or a straight truck with a pup trailer to perform assigned duties on designated routes.
Responsibilities
- Operates vehicle in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements, maintaining a clean and safe vehicle.
- Performs pre- and post-trip inspections using eDVIR and reports any issues.
- Immediately reports unsafe situations or unscheduled service calls to management.
- Participates in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings.
- Works with management to improve route efficiencies and identify problem accounts.
- Performs all duties as scheduled and assists other drivers as directed.
- Notifies management of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
- Notifies management of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol.
- Communicates customer requests, issues, or service changes to management.
- Completely dumps all containers and leaves the customer’s location clean.
- Positions containers to ensure they do not block driveways or traffic.
- Follows route assignments and completes all documentation.
Requirements
- 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
- Able to read, write, and speak English sufficiently for job-related interactions.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country.
- Successfully complete pre-employment screening, including drug screen and physical.
- Possess a Class A CDL.
- Must have, or be willing to obtain, a REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative for potential air travel or federal property access.
