About the Role
The Project Manager provides strategic guidance for the compliant, safe, and efficient handling and processing of all waste streams contracted by the facility(s). This role ensures services consistently meet expectations, regulatory and safety compliance, and are delivered productively and profitably.
Responsibilities
- Monitor operational efficiencies and assist in achieving performance and cost goals using cost tracking tools and invoice review.
- Identify and execute cost reduction strategies while fulfilling contractual obligations.
- Provide strategic consultative resources to hospital staff for managing waste streams safely and compliantly.
- Serve as the primary liaison for managing all contracted waste streams.
- Offer expert knowledge on regulations associated with managed waste streams (EPA, DOT, DEA, state, and local).
- Conduct customer surveys to identify compliance gaps and waste segregation opportunities using the Virtual Compliance Partner application.
- Project manage the implementation of new compliance-based services, including tracking, coordinating, and communicating schedules and expectations.
- Develop and deliver customized training for contract implementation and maintenance.
- Regularly schedule and complete customer-facing activities focused on service satisfaction, relationship building, and operational efficiency/profitability improvements.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in the healthcare industry or equivalent related work experience.
- Demonstrated excellent working knowledge of medical waste issues and the healthcare industry.
- Consultative skills to effectively deal with customers.
- Confidence with public speaking duties.
- Must have, or be willing to obtain, a REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative for potential air travel or federal property access.
