About the Role
Under immediate direction, the Dispatcher provides timely response to customer inquiries regarding pick-ups, schedules, product orders, and other customer needs. This role dispatches vehicles on pre-set routes daily to ensure efficient customer service.
Responsibilities
- Assist Customer Service with customer requests (SFDC cases), route changes, and rescheduling for pickups/missed stops.
- Provide the highest level of customer service in line with Customer 1st objectives.
- Monitor, process, and escalate SFDC cases to supervisor.
- Assist walk-in customers.
- Assist drivers with problems/issues as they arise.
- Review driver’s paperwork and file it.
- Review and update routes and new customers based on daily communication, rerouting existing customers as required.
- Ensure routes are balanced daily.
- Assist Trans Supervisor/Manager as needed/directed.
- Update SAP data/notes.
- Communicate performance standards and objectives.
- Keep staff informed of current problems, changes, and new developments through meetings.
- Maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
- In the absence of a manager/supervisor, monitor employee performance for safety and productivity, and make recommendations for improvements.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience, preferably in Transportation, Logistics, Routing, and Customer Service.
- Must have, or be willing to obtain, a REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative if required for business travel or federal property access.
