About the Role

The Tenant Services Coordinator at Hillside Senior Apartments provides light-touch social services, focusing on case management and support for previously homeless seniors referred from NYC shelters. The role ensures services align with RiseBoro's mission and helps tenants maintain housing and identify additional benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day on-site services for tenants.
  • Complete needs assessments and develop tenant-centered support plans.
  • Provide ongoing case management, assistance, and advocacy.
  • Refer tenants to community services, including supportive counseling and crisis intervention.
  • Ensure tenants maintain housing subsidies and benefits.
  • Assist tenants in identifying and applying for additional benefits.
  • Facilitate tenant engagement through workshops and social activities.
  • Educate residents on available on-site services and community resources.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and resident files.
  • Conduct monitoring services through home visits, telephone calls, and periodic inspections.
  • Collaborate with community partners to ensure residents can age in place.
  • Coordinate home care services and discharge planning from inpatient facilities.
  • Communicate with property management and maintenance staff on resident issues.
  • Escort tenants to appointments when appropriate.
  • Perform other related duties as required by the Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Experience in a social services setting preferred.
  • Experience in customer or client services required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication required.
  • Bilingual English/Cantonese or Mandarin speaker required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to advocate.
  • Ability to be a team player and work with a diverse population.
  • Ability to problem-solve and work with a high level of autonomy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
