About the Role

As the first Customer Engineer, you will own the post-sign technical lifecycle within Terminal’s enterprise accounts end-to-end. You will define production-readiness standards and implementation playbooks, working in a dedicated pod with a Strategic Account Manager and Customer Success Manager. This senior role is the operational core of the company’s growth, focusing on scaling, expansion, and retention of existing customers.

Responsibilities

  • Enable customer technical teams and scale from the first production fleet to full fleet syncing, monitoring sync health and latency.
  • Own technical escalations end-to-end, pulling in a Sales Engineer when necessary.
  • Co-author the production-readiness Definition of Done, the kickoff technical playbook, and the common-issues repository.
  • Add recurring issue patterns to the repository and feed structural fixes back to engineering.
  • Build the system that every future Customer Engineer will inherit.

Requirements

  • Delivered technical implementations for Fortune 500 customers in a post-sales context.
  • Understand data engineering fundamentals: APIs, data pipelines, warehouse replication, data completeness, and latency.
  • Experience managing security or data-governance reviews that block go-lives.
