About the Role

The University of Rochester is seeking an individual to provide direct care to assigned patients in an inpatient setting. This role contributes to unit activities, supports the enhancement of the care delivery system, and works collaboratively with other staff members. The position assumes responsibility for patient care under the direction of the co-assigned RN or MD, participating in the plan of care, implementing nursing interventions, and contributing to patient/family education.

Responsibilities

Remains accountable for provision of direct care to assigned patients in an inpatient setting.
Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system.
Works as a team member and assists other staff members with implementing patient care.
Assumes responsibility of care for assigned patients under the direction of the co-assigned RN or MD.
Participates in the plan of care, implements appropriate nursing interventions, and contributes to patient/family education through data collection, interdisciplinary team collaboration, documentation, and excellent communication.
Works D/E/N shifts, including holidays and weekends per unit policy.

Requirements

Must be an LPN.
Must have enthusiasm for learning and working in a team.
