About the Role

This developmental role manages Evaluation projects, validates and evaluates fragrances according to customer needs, and acts as a consumer and brand expert. The Associate Fragrance Development Manager works with smaller projects and clients while developing skills for future growth.

Responsibilities

  • Make fragrance selections through collaboration between perfumery and evaluation, including smelling sessions and team decision-making.
  • Manage assigned project portfolio by identifying objectives such as fragrance characteristics, timetable, priority, cost, competitive price, and market potential.
  • Gain proficiency in selecting and developing commercially viable fragrances for assigned accounts.
  • Train on the job and self-develop in fragrance evaluation skills and responsibilities.
  • Support the evaluation department for floating accounts.
  • Support the Evaluation Assistant in their absence and provide secondary support to the Fragrance Service Coordinator.
  • Gain knowledge of assigned accounts, including product lines, current fragrances, and submission requirements.
  • Continuously enhance market knowledge and consumer understanding in areas of specialization, staying current with new products, consumer tastes, and olfactive trends.
  • Coordinate library review sessions.
  • Direct perfumery with new ideas for library expansion.
  • Interact with all internal fragrance departments, customers, industry contacts, vendors, and MANE Affiliates.

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. required.
  • 3+ years functional/technical experience.
  • Project and system management skills.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Olfactive ability.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Ability to leverage digital communication and collaboration tools.
