Responsibilities
- Conducting due diligence on prospective funding opportunities
- Analyzing financial and legal issues
- Communicating directly with claimants and their counsel
- Conducting factual investigations
- Assisting Investment Managers in the preparation and negotiation of term sheets
- Providing recommendations on the appropriateness of funding matters
- Preparing and presenting submissions to the Investment Committee
- Meeting and speaking with lawyers/law firms to discuss litigation finance
- Managing funded cases by maintaining client and lawyer communications
- Monitoring case progress and developments
- Conferring on strategic issues
- Considering settlement issues
- Managing litigation fees and expenses
- Conducting general research on legal, strategic, and other issues
- Preparing submissions, articles, blogs, and PowerPoint presentations on litigation finance topics
- Assisting Investment Managers with business development activities
Requirements
- A J.D. and 6 or more years of litigation experience
- Superior academic credentials
- High-level litigation and analytical skills
