About the Role
We are hiring Senior Forward Deployed Engineers to scale our FDE organization. This senior individual contributor role is for engineers who want to remain engineers. You will be the technical anchor of a pod of FDEs, own complex enterprise deployments, and build tooling and practices to accelerate future deployments. Your impact will span the organization, establishing systems, patterns, and standards for all pods.
Responsibilities
- Own the hardest deployments end-to-end.
- Architect agent systems for Fortune 500 environments.
- Build enterprise integrations.
- Make scope/speed/quality trade-off decisions to ship production agents on aggressive timelines.
- Be the technical anchor of your pod.
- Set the engineering bar through design and code reviews.
- Mentor FDE I/II engineers.
- Serve as the escalation point for the hardest live issues, including real-time voice latency, telephony edge cases, integration failures, and agent quality regressions.
- Create eval harnesses, deployment tooling, debugging infrastructure, and reusable patterns that compound across every pod.
- Turn deployment learnings into prototypes and concrete asks.
- Work directly with core engineering to land platform improvements.
- Run architecture discussions with customer engineering leaders.
- Act as the trusted technical contact for customers when production issues arise.
Requirements
- 5+ years of production software engineering experience, ideally at companies with high engineering standards.
- Shipped and operated real systems at scale.
- Expert in Python, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD.
- Experience debugging distributed systems under pressure.
- Ability to learn new integration surfaces quickly.
- Hands-on experience with LLM agent systems, including orchestration, tool calling, evals, and context engineering.
- Understanding of latency budgets for real-time voice or ability to ramp up quickly.
- Ability to sit across from enterprise stakeholders, translate ambiguity into a plan, and remain calm under pressure.
- High agency: ability to identify and pursue the highest-leverage problems with limited guidance.
