About the Role

At Rebecca School, we support students ages 3–21 with neurodevelopmental delays through the DIRFloortime® model. Guided by values of respect, relationships, and emotional growth, we help students connect and thrive. Join us and make a lasting difference in their lives. We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and flexible Art Teacher to join our team as a maternity leave replacement. The Art Teacher will work with students across multiple age groups and ability levels, adapting lessons to meet individual needs while fostering creativity, confidence, and self-expression through visual art.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate art lessons tailored to the students needs and developmental capacity
Adapt instruction and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles, sensory needs, and motor abilities
Create a supportive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff to align art instruction with the school’s DIRFloortime® principles.
Maintain a safe and organized art classroom and manage supplies

Requirements

Experience working with children with special needs and/or autism strongly preferred
Understanding of sensory-sensitive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction
Strong classroom management skills with a calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
