About the Role

Terminal is seeking a Founding Product Marketing Lead to establish and lead the company's marketing function. This senior role is ideal for an accomplished marketer who wants to build marketing from the ground up, leveraging AI agents for specialized tasks and directly impacting the company's trajectory. The role involves marketing a technical data and API platform to a sophisticated audience, requiring a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. Reporting to the COO, this position offers a clear path to scale the marketing function.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve Terminal's positioning and narrative in the market.
  • Evolve Terminal's positioning, messaging, and category narrative.
  • Build a repeatable pipeline of customer and partner case studies.
  • Carry and sharpen the narrative across conferences, events, and customer engagements.
  • Own the surfaces where the narrative lives: website, LinkedIn, industry outlets, and a thought-leadership blog.
  • Write and publish persuasive, high-conversion thought-leadership.
  • Create core sales collateral: decks, one-pagers, and standard narratives.
  • Build success stories, customer testimonials, and ROI models.
  • Partner with the sales team to unblock pipeline and conversion.
  • Design and run an AI-first marketing engine, orchestrating specialized AI agents.
  • Stand up the operating rhythm, tooling, and systems for the marketing engine.
  • Own Terminal's event presence: industry conferences and Terminal-hosted events.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in marketing, including VP or leadership roles.
  • Deep experience B2B marketing technical products (ideally data, API, or developer-first) to technical and business audiences.
  • Operated across the full marketing stack (positioning, content, demand generation, brand, enablement, events).
  • Proven track record of category-defining positioning and persuasive thought-leadership.
  • Equally strong as a strategist and an operator.
  • Fluent with AI and energized by it as a force multiplier.
  • Wants a founding, 0→1 mandate with direct ownership and company-level impact.
  • Done with big-org layers and stakeholder management.
  • Prior experience in Telematics, fleet/logistics, or selling into insurance domain (nice to have).
  • Intro call with the COO (30 min).
  • Product Marketing deep-dive (60 min).
  • Work product + presentation (prep + 60 min live).
  • Onsite culture loop + final (180 min).
