About the Role
Perform general facility maintenance and repair duties, focusing on HVAC systems, electrical controls, and related equipment to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Respond to work orders for area temperature problems, pump and circulator replacement/repair, refrigerant system repair and charging, and equipment relocation for construction projects.
- Perform preventive maintenance duties including filter changes, coil cleaning, belt changes, and ice machine cleaning and service.
- Ensure appropriate function to comply with regulatory agencies, including refrigerant reclaiming and fire barrier repair.
- Identify opportunities for quality improvement by updating heating and cooling systems and modifying HVAC components or sensors for improved comfort.
Requirements
- Pneumatic and direct digital control experience.
- Knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration, including ice machines.
- Experience in troubleshooting and repair of HVAC equipment.
- Ability to cut and thread pipe.
- Ability to maintain and install filter systems.
- Some knowledge of medical gas systems.
- Ability to install and maintain circulating pumps.
- Knowledge of high-pressure steam boilers and delivery systems.
- Ability to estimate and requisition materials.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, State, DOH, and Hospital Safety Standards.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot electrical controls.
- Experience in all forms of soldering.
- Ability to understand and complete preventative maintenance programs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and climbing.
- Ability to perform snow removal duties including shoveling, salting, and knowledge of snow plow operations.
- Strong self-motivation.
