About the Role

The Global Performance team plays a critical role in supporting the investment and client reporting process through the calculation and validation of Fiera’s investment performance results at the strategy, composite, mandate and client levels in adherence to the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®). The Manager, Global Performance Measurement is a collaborative leader responsible for the investment performance operations and support of Fiera’s complex line-up of investment strategies and products.

Responsibilities

  • Manages a team of performance analysts responsible for calculating and reporting investment performance results across various asset classes.
  • Builds a high performing team capable of delivering quality results in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment.
  • Develops and coaches team members, sets goals, manages progress and motivates them to maintain a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Empowers team members to participate in and lead high profile projects that will promote growth and effectiveness.
  • Leads by example and keeps employee’s workload manageable and challenging.
  • Advocates on behalf of the team in any arena where they need a voice.
  • Provides comprehensive service delivery for Fiera Capital’s public markets and private markets feeder funds’ investment performance reporting including attribution services.
  • Leads the implementation and maintenance of all performance measurement systems.
  • Manages annual GIPS® Firm verification and examination by external auditors.
  • Assists with ongoing interpretation of the GIPS® standards by drawing on practical experience, industry guidance, and external auditor expertise.
  • Works closely with the investment teams and other operations teams for all matters concerning performance measurement and analytics reporting.
  • Stays current on industry and regulatory trends and the evolving needs of our clients and partners.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the asset management industry and other department functions, collaborating with other departments to bring solutions to fruition.
  • Maintains strong relationships with distribution, investment and operations teams to ensure client satisfaction and trust.
  • Responds to client due diligence questionnaires and prospect RFPs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, statistics, business, or a related field.
  • Typically has 7+ years of performance and investment analytics experience in an asset management setting.
  • Has 3+ years of management experience.
  • Possesses knowledge of all asset classes and market performance and attribution methodologies and best practices.
  • Has working knowledge of GIPS® and regulatory requirements in the investment industry.
  • Has experience leading cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Possesses excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to all levels of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a global, cross-functional environment.
  • Adaptable to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Maintains a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • French language proficiency is required for candidates based in Montreal.
  • Working English proficiency is required.

Skills

  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA, FRM, CIPM) preferred.
  • Knowledge of Eagle PACE, FactSet, APX, Archer, Bloomberg PORT+, B-One, and Morningstar are considered strong assets.
  • Proficiency in French (spoken and written) is mandatory for all positions in Quebec (Montreal and Laval).

  • The Global Performance team is one of the four pillars within Fiera Capital’s Global Operations, alongside Portfolio Administration, Fund Administration and Data Management.
  • Global Operations administer a broad and often complex range of investment strategies, fund structures and asset classes in support of the Institutional, Financial Intermediary and Private Wealth distribution channels.
  • Private (Alternative Investment) Markets is also supported but mainly through the use of feeder funds (fund of funds).
  • Global Operations teams work in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment whereby attention to detail, operational risk, and client focus are must-have traits.
