About the Role
The Certified Staff 1 and 2/Senior Sonographer performs routine, complex, and highly technical procedures using ultrasonic waves for disease diagnosis. This role requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of routine, complex and highly technical procedures.
- Applies nonionizing, high frequency ultrasonic waves to humans for diagnosis of disease.
- Maintains competencies in each modality if cross-trained.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate of an approved CAHEA/JRCT school of Radiologic Technology, or a two year allied health equivalent.
- RDMS ultrasound certification.
- ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) certified.
- ARRT preferred.
- Staff 1 Sonographer: RDMS or RVT required (RVT within 180 days of employment, RDMS (OB) within 2 years).
- Staff 2 Sonographer: RVT and RDMS required (OB within 2 years).
- Senior Sonographer: RVT, RDMS (OB) plus one additional ARDMS specialty board (not including Physics).
- Senior Sonographer: Five plus years registered sonographer experience.
- This is a bargaining union position.
