About the Role
The Store Manager is responsible for the sales, profitability, appearance, and overall operations of the store. The position objectives are to show consistent sales growth, ensure the store exemplifies the proper O’Reilly image, operates as a profit center, and follows policies and procedures to ensure the store is operating as economically and efficiently as possible.
Responsibilities
- Maximize sales by directing team members to provide prompt, courteous, and professional customer service.
- Solicit orders, sell company products, and represent the company according to policies.
- Maintain customer base, increase sales volume, gain market share, and solicit stocking-type business, daily needs, and equipment sales.
- Communicate and coordinate sales call efforts with the Territory Sales Manager.
- Supervise store team members and collaborate with the District Manager on recruiting, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and discharging team members.
- Utilize scheduling recommendations based on sales and payroll forecasting to develop and post work schedules.
- Review team member timecards for accuracy and correct missed punches daily.
- Ensure team members continually improve skills through company training on policies, procedures, customer service, computer operations, catalogs, sales, and safety.
- Work with Sales and Pricing Departments to establish pricing levels for professional customers.
- Maximize gross profit on outside purchases.
- Monitor non-competitive price overrides and price matches for policy compliance, profitability, and to eliminate discounting abuse.
- Ensure the store is organized and operating according to all company policies and procedures.
- Communicate new company information to all team members as necessary.
- Implement all planogram changes and merchandising plans.
- Provide the Inventory Control Department with accurate and timely stock adjustment recaps.
- Handle all daily store accounting functions accurately, including sales reports, bank deposits, cash drawers, and check processing.
- Monitor all charge accounts, address past due situations, and communicate account status with the Territory Sales Manager and credit department.
- Monitor susceptible areas and implement loss prevention procedures, including billing, cash refund, credit, stock transfer, core and warranty procedures, key control, and shoplifting prevention.
- Ensure store vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and daily/monthly inspections are completed properly.
- Report property/building needs using the Maintenance and Repair System (MARS) or to the District Manager.
- Attend the Annual Managers' Conference.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Well organized with the ability to prioritize effectively and manage time efficiently
- Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment, and systems
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
- Certified Parts Professional Certification
- ASE certification
