About the Role
The primary purpose of this position is to assist individuals and/or their families with implementing their Self-Direction budgets by attending meetings and ensuring payments are made according to everyone's budget. As employer of record, this role ensures quality and Medicaid Compliance standards are met according to regulations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as direct contact for person supported and manager of service, including participation in their Circle of Support as assigned per caseload.
- Provide ongoing training and support to persons supported and Circle of Support to gain and maintain skills for managing self-directed services.
- Participate in annual and/or semi-annual Life Plan meetings per person supported preference (in person or virtually).
- Manage compliance-related documents, assuring timely and accurate completion of plans for individuals receiving services per OPWDD and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain documentation standards in electronic health records systems.
- Perform duties associated with the agency’s employer of record responsibilities, including assisting individuals with managing their staff's job assignment, wage/status, and onboarding.
- Perform minimum quarterly check-in calls to ensure satisfaction with services.
- Monitor budget activity to ensure expenses are within the Personal Resource Account (PRA) and meet all OPWDD regulations.
- Remain compliant with all regulations and guidance associated with self-directed services.
- Report any incidents or compliance concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Consult with Program Managers/Supervisors to ensure consistency of services.
- Perform other duties assigned by Self-Direction Supervisor and/or designee within scope of practice.
- Participate on various EPI committees as able.
Requirements
- Must maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion concerning all business-related matters.
- Must be willing to complete specific company required trainings as mandated by our governing agency, OPWDD, at time of hire and annually thereafter.
- Must adhere to all departmental /company policies & procedures at all times.

- Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License.
- A vehicle is required for business travel.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all persons supported and a diverse employee population of various levels within the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to use poise, tact, maturity and diplomacy during difficult and/or stressful situations to effectively collaborate and resolve issues.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, and customer requests, while meeting deadlines.
- Must be able to talk, hear, stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods of time.
- May have to twist, bend, use hand to finger, stretch with hands and arms.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
- May be exposed to strong odors from time to time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to changing weather conditions will occur.
