About the Role
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays an integral role in the lives of the people we support by providing direct assistance in all aspects of daily living. This role enables the greatest level of independence possible and the best quality of life for individuals. Tasks may include personal care, hygiene, housekeeping, laundry, cooking, medication management, appointment assistance, and behavioral interventions.
Responsibilities
- Directly responsible for specific assigned groups and individuals.
- Implement and collect data for daily and weekly programs as assigned by supervisor.
- Assist with clerical work.
- Carry out daily schedules as developed and planned.
- Implement weekly and daily programs to assist individuals in attaining their goals.
- Document individual progress in both increase and decrease programs daily, including collecting and graphing data.
- Participate in behavior analysis training program.
- Supervise and transport consumers from home to day program and back.
- Return agency vehicles in clean condition.
- Drive consumers on all planned trips.
Requirements
- HS/GED required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to drive the agency van required.
- No prior experience needed; paid training provided.
- Suitable for applicants with resume gaps or those re-entering the workforce.
- Good job for individuals new to the workforce or returning with limited experience.
- Open to applicants without a college diploma.
