About the Role

This role focuses on maintaining and repairing commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems in modern, standardized commercial kitchen facilities. It offers a mix of hands-on repair, system troubleshooting, and facility support, with opportunities for growth into leadership roles within a rapidly expanding operation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and complex repairs on commercial refrigeration systems (WIC/R, Walk-Ins, Reach-Ins) as a primary priority, alongside HVAC systems (RTUs, exhaust fans, hoods, make-up air units, DOAS systems).
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues across multiple sites.
  • Support refrigeration and kitchen ventilation systems.
  • Travel between multiple sites across the Greater Bay Area.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
  • Handle basic electrical and plumbing maintenance.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and warranty work.
  • Use Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor performance and diagnose issues.
  • Provide remote troubleshooting support to onsite teams and vendors.
  • Review reports (startup, testing, balancing) to verify system performance.
  • Assist with new facility openings by verifying installation and system functionality.
  • Identify issues early and coordinate corrective actions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial refrigeration and HVAC experience.
  • HVAC Universal certification (EPA, trade school, or equivalent).
  • Expertise in Walk-In Coolers/Freezers (WIC/R) and specialized refrigeration equipment, with additional experience in RTUs and ventilation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge around compressors & key components.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites locally.
  • Experience in restaurants, hospitality, or multi-site facilities.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.
