About the Role
Episode Six is a global provider of API-based payment processing and wallet management infrastructure, seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to join their growing fintech organization. They are a cloud-native company focused on changing how people think about payments, powering solutions for major banks and airlines.
Responsibilities
- Lead testing efforts in payments, card issuing, and revolving credit domains.
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases in JUnit 5.
- Prepare quality assurance policies and procedures.
- Design, develop, and execute automation code.
- Identify, record, document, and track bugs.
- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
- Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products.
- Track quality assurance metrics and statistics.
- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools, diverse test strategies, and ensure ongoing compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate technical information effectively, both written and verbally, to team members and customers.
- Collaborate with team members, other teams, and customers on projects.
Requirements
- Proficiency in the Java programming language and JUnit test framework.
- Proven domain knowledge and experience in testing within the payments and card industry.
- Proficiency in various testing methodologies, tools, and techniques specific to the payments domain.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and industry-specific protocols.
- Ability and willingness to delve into unfamiliar domains, rapidly acquiring necessary expertise for effective testing.
- Previous experience in backend Java enterprise software system testing.
- Previous experience in automating API (REST) testing.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or other CI/CD platforms.
- Proven record with large complex projects and SDLC processes.
- Experience working with RDBMS and NoSQL Databases such as MySQL and Cassandra.
- Ability to write, execute, and debug SQL queries to perform database testing and validation.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure comprehensive test planning.
- Business fluency in English, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
