About the Role
The Front of House Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, warmly welcoming guests, taking orders, providing cleaning support, managing phone calls, and ensuring effective team communication.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly in person and on the phone.
- Provide information about menu offerings.
- Utilize selling techniques for specials and promotions.
- Take accurate orders using the POS system and process payments.
- Handle and reconcile cash transactions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked station.
- Respond to guest inquiries promptly and efficiently.
- Build relationships with guests.
- Communicate guest needs to staff and managers, adhering to allergen policies.
- Address guest issues professionally and calmly.
- Follow established tip handling procedures.
- Deliver food and beverage orders with enthusiasm.
- Follow restaurant Standard Operating Procedures.
- Greet and complete pickup orders for phone and online customers.
- Confirm order accuracy before handover.
- Provide responsible alcohol service, check IDs, and complete training.
- Prepare house beverages according to recipes.
- Keep all areas clean and tidy, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Manage dishwashing.
- Assist with the cleanliness of sidewalks, trash areas, parking lots, and restrooms.
- Perform opening and closing duties for cashier, bar, and service areas.
- Ensure areas are clean and presentable at the end of each shift.
- Assist team members as needed to maintain positive working relationships.
- Perform side work including cleaning, stocking, and portioning.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas by clearing and returning items.
- Inspect glassware for cleanliness and presentation.
- Clear tables efficiently.
- Sanitize high-touch areas and report hazards.
- Show up to work on time, dressed appropriately, and prepared.
- Maintain high service expectations with a positive attitude and teamwork.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum 6 months customer service experience.
- Restaurant service background and experience preferred.
- CA Food Handlers Certification required.
- Must wear close-toed, non-slip shoes.
- Ability to work in a high-paced work environment.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to focus for an entire shift.
- Troubleshooting and prioritizing skills.
- Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
