Responsibilities

  • Provide peer support and encouragement to individuals on their recovery journey.
  • Help members identify and build natural support systems.
  • Connect members with peer resources, advocacy groups, and community services.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to support whole-person care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current Maine Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) certification, or ability to obtain provisional certification through CORE training and achieve full certification within 9 months.
  • Must have lived experience with mental health recovery and be willing to self-identify in accordance with Maine SAMHS requirements.
  • Strong communication, organizational, advocacy, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Regular computer use, sitting, standing, walking, and occasional stair climbing.
