Responsibilities
- Work with the Business Office Manager in day-to-day coordination of Resident census and Billing to ensure regulatory billing compliance.
- Ensure efficient and maximized collection of Resident Accounts.
- Assist with submission and tracking through approval of Medicaid Pending applications.
- Provide accurate reporting of billing and cash collection activity.
- Ensure full compliance of the Resident Funds ledgers at all times.
- Prepare, process, and maintain facility census, including reconciliation to Midnight Shift Report.
- Enter payer changes and adjust payer information and revenue according to NHCA guidelines.
- Prepare daily deposits received at the facility.
- Scan checks, post, and complete the cash log for non-AR related cash, private, private coinsurance, applied income monies, and miscellaneous AR payors per NHCA guidelines.
- Import all AR related Commercial Insurances and Medicaid related monies.
- Review aging upon completion of daily cash posting to verify accuracy.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of billing and collections experience in long-term care, including management or supervisory responsibilities.
- Thorough knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Pending, Applied Income, and Managed Care reimbursement regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
- Excellent team building, leadership, and communication skills.
- Deadline-driven, detail-oriented individual.
- Proficiency in office software including Excel, Word, Outlook, and billing/eligibility software solutions (Point Click Care, Inovalon, and RFMS).
