About the Role

Responsible for producing high-quality X-ray images in an inpatient setting by conducting exams safely and efficiently, while adhering to departmental policies and provider orders.

Responsibilities

• Prepares room and patient per order.
• Properly sets up equipment, positions patients, and determines proper exposure factors to produce a high-quality image.
• Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient information and exam details.
• Understands and practices the Dual patient identifier procedure.
• Maintains appropriate supplies in the X-ray rooms.
• Produces a diagnostic, high-quality image for interpretation by the Radiologist.
• Transfers patients to and from imaging tables using assistive devices.
• Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and ensuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly.
• Completes and bills for studies accurately.
• May train new employees or lead day-to-day work activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist current NYS licensure upon hire required.
• ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with CE credits upon hire required.
