About the Role
Responsible for producing high-quality X-ray images in an inpatient setting by conducting exams safely and efficiently, while adhering to departmental policies and provider orders.
Responsibilities
- Prepares room and patient per order.
- Properly sets up equipment, positions patients, and determines proper exposure factors to produce a high-quality image.
- Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient information and exam details.
- Understands and practices the Dual patient identifier procedure.
- Maintains appropriate supplies in the X-ray rooms.
- Produces a diagnostic, high-quality image for interpretation by the Radiologist.
- Transfers patients to and from imaging tables using assistive devices.
- Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and ensuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly.
- Completes and bills for studies accurately.
- May train new employees or lead day-to-day work activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist current NYS licensure upon hire required.
- ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with CE credits upon hire required.
