About the Role
The University of Rochester is seeking an individual to perform home medical infusion/supply coordination and basic in-home patient education. This role contributes to order preparation, delivery, and equipment setup, troubleshooting, maintenance, and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Assembles and packages completed home infusion orders.
- Delivers home infusion orders, DME/HME, or other items directly to patient's home or other alternative treatment locations and ensures completion and signature of documentation by patient/caregiver relative to regulatory and pay requirements.
- Educates patients on DME/HME equipment.
- Orders and maintains inventory of supplies, packaging materials and equipment.
- Rotates supplies to ensure adherence with expiration dates.
- Participates in physical inventory counts.
- Troubleshoots problems with DME/HME equipment.
- Tests infusion pumps and runs diagnostics to ensure equipment is suitable to go back into service.
- Maintains all relevant QA documentation relative to home infusion and HME/DME equipment.
- Coordinates and follows up on product returns.
- Completes mail/deposits/other errands upon request.
- Provides on-call, after hours support as scheduled.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of local roadways in the service area and ability to use technology for wayfinding required.
- Ability to perform physical labor including lifting of containers and boxes required.
- Ability to meet and interact with patients, caregivers, and facility personnel, and deliver a high level of customer service required.
- Driver License, Valid and in State with clean driving record upon hire required.
