About the Role

You will be part of the AMD-Architecture, Middleware, Data Management & Enterprise Service department, specifically within the Data Engineering & Business Intelligence (DEBI) team, responsible for designing and developing enterprise standard technologies that support data integration, processing, warehousing, mining, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and develop EDM and data solutions for International MUFG entities.
  • Drive innovation and automation to deliver high-quality service.
  • Ensure development is cost-effective and aligns with business requirements and architectural guidelines.
  • Mentor and lead other EDM resources.
  • Support estimations for business initiatives.
  • Ensure solutions comply with Technology policies, SDLC, and best practices.
  • Promote a dynamic, delivery-driven culture in partnership with the BAU team.
  • Ensure designs meet customer requirements and MUFG/AMD standards.
  • Act as a data support analyst for various business areas across EMEA.
  • Document data definitions and design specifications.
  • Lead and mentor a team of EDM developers.
  • Maintain good working relationships with other development and support teams, and business areas.
  • Work closely with developers, testers, and end-users.
  • Contribute to the planning, execution, and verification of Integration Testing and Systems Testing.
  • Support users in planning and executing User Acceptance Testing.
  • Ensure solutions meet development project targets with high quality.
  • Gather business requirements from users and translate them into design documents.
  • Create detailed functional/non-functional design documents.
  • Liaise with internal and external clients, including business users, Change team, and vendors.
  • Ensure all activity complies with policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Adhere strictly to change management and privileged production access management processes.
  • Promote the MUFG values-led culture, which is inclusive and diverse.
  • Promote a dynamic, delivery-driven culture that provides responsive resolutions and value-driven solutions.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in databases (SQL Server or Snowflake).
  • Advanced experience with low-code/no-code data engineering/ETL tools (preferably Markit EDM v19.2 or above, or similar like Informatica Power Centre).
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure and applications within a Financial Services organization.
  • Keen interest in the latest technology trends.
  • Detailed practical knowledge of software development and maintenance methods, tools, and techniques.
  • Understanding of strategic issues and expertise in SDLC.
  • In-depth knowledge of Business Analyst and Systems Analyst practices.
  • Strong understanding of AI fundamentals, Large Language Models (LLMs), and agentic AI architectures.
  • Understanding and experience in projects involving Counterparty, Instrument, and/or Market Data.
  • Experience with Cloud (AWS or Azure).
  • Experience with External Tools, APIs.
  • Experience with Data pipelines, Lineage.
  • Experience with Task Automation.
  • Experience with Scripting Languages (Python, Powershell).
  • Experience with Reporting tools (Power BI, SSRS or Tableau).
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric/Data Engineer – Modern Data Architectures (e.g., lakehouse, data mesh).
  • Experience with ETL/ELT Tools (dbt, Databricks).
  • Experience with Source Control (GitHub, Tortoise SVN).
  • Experience with Batch Scheduling (Control-M, Autosys).
  • Experience with CI/CD.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Good overall knowledge of the Murex platform.
  • Excellent understanding of trade booking and trade lifecycle in Murex.
  • Strong delivery track record and ability to take ownership of initiatives.
  • Experience managing a team of senior technology professionals within a top-tier bank or consultancy.
  • Experience successfully delivering large-scale projects (preferably international scope).
  • Confidence and gravitas to interact with senior managers.
  • Business analysis experience working for a top-tier bank or consultancy.
  • Thorough understanding of the project life cycle.
  • Experience compiling proposal, scope, requirements, and testing documents.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycles.
  • Good product knowledge (Bonds, Derivatives, Credit, Securities Financing, FX, Loans and Deposits).
  • Strong understanding of Identity & Access Management (IAM) frameworks.
  • Deep knowledge of Privileged Access Management (PAM) concepts.
  • Expertise in core access control principles (least privilege, SoD, RBAC).
  • Understanding of IAM/PAM governance models.
  • Knowledge of identity and access architecture.
  • Awareness of cyber risk and control frameworks.
  • Understanding of operational IAM/PAM processes.
  • Awareness of evolving cyber security practices (zero-trust, identity-centric security).
  • Solid understanding of RSA, ServiceNow, Cyber Ark.
  • Ability to self-service on systems analysis requiring advanced Excel and basic SQL.
