About the Role

The Education Department at Daemen University is seeking qualified supervisor(s) for student teaching and other field experiences. University supervisors provide one-on-one support to teacher candidates, observing and evaluating their teaching, and facilitating reflection. They serve as the initial point of contact between the Cooperating Teacher and Daemen University. All observations are conducted remotely using video analysis software, and student debrief meetings are scheduled after school hours via Zoom.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one support to teacher candidates.
Observe and evaluate student teaching.
Support student reflection on teaching practices.
Serve as the initial point of contact between the Cooperating Teacher and Daemen University.
Conduct remote observations using video analysis software.
Schedule and conduct student debrief meetings via Zoom after school hours.

Requirements

NYS teacher certification (any area).
Expertise in instructional pedagogy, learning theory, learner development PK-12, culturally responsive & sustaining teaching practices, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
Familiarity with NYS P-12 learning standards.
At least three years of teaching experience in Grades PK-12 or similar relevant experience.
A Master's degree in Education, content area, or a related field.
Familiarity with the use of Zoom and Google Workspace.
Comfort with learning new technologies for video-based supervision.
Students are responsible for their own transportation.
Students are responsible for completing any background checks required by the school district.
