About the Role
The Life Sciences North America Labor and Employee Relations Specialist provides labor and employee relations services to North American operating companies. This role manages a high-volume of cases and acts as the primary liaison between operating companies and the enterprise Labor & Employee Relations Center of Excellence.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary advisor for employee relations matters across North America, including performance management, disciplinary actions, leaves, grievances, investigations, and separations.
- Conduct and manage workplace investigations, identify root causes, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Partner with managers, HR, and the North America Labor & Employee Relations COE to ensure consistent and compliant application of policies, procedures, and employment laws.
- Coach and develop people leaders to effectively address employee relations issues and improve leadership capability.
- Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of employee relations policies, procedures, toolkits, and standard work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in Employee Relations, Labor Relations, HR Business Partnering, Employment Law, or a related HR discipline.
- Experience managing LER matters in a unionized workplace.
- Demonstrated experience handling a broad range of employee relations matters, including high-volume and complex case management.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. labor and employment laws and employee relations best practices.
- Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, influence stakeholders, and resolve issues effectively in a matrixed environment.
- Strong analytical, communication, and coaching skills.
