About the Role

The McPherson and Maura Laboratories at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Computational Biologist to join their collaborative, interdisciplinary research team. This grant-funded position is supported for a minimum of three years and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge cancer genomics research while generating discoveries with direct clinical impact.

Responsibilities

Analyze and interpret complex single-cell and bulk whole genome sequencing datasets to address novel and clinically relevant research questions
Integrate genomic datasets with spatial transcriptomic data to uncover biological insights
Contribute to high-impact scientific publications and earn authorship recognition through meaningful intellectual contributions
Evaluate, troubleshoot, and refine computational analyses to ensure scientific rigor and reproducibility
Stay current with emerging computational biology and bioinformatics methodologies and apply innovative approaches to new datasets
Collaborate closely with clinician-scientists and researchers across MSK to investigate cancer genomics and disease evolution over time
Develop and maintain computational infrastructure to improve data management, analysis workflows, and research efficiency

Requirements

PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field with a strong emphasis on molecular biology applications
Experience analyzing high-throughput sequencing data
Demonstrated expertise in single-cell genomics analysis
Proficiency in Python and/or R for large-scale data analysis
Experience working in Linux-based environments and utilizing command-line tools
Familiarity with Git and collaborative software development practices
