About the Role
The Senior Billing Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting attorneys with client billing, ensuring timely and accurate processing in accordance with client agreements. This role involves advising on billing matters, researching issues, and collaborating with various accounting departments to minimize financial exposure.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily billing activities, including Proforma generation and edits, creating timecard summaries, updating matter and Timekeeper rates, and running client reports.
- Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and acceptance of invoices monthly, actively following up to resolve billing issues.
- Understand and ensure correct implementation of client Outside Counsel Guidelines and fee arrangements.
- Accurately and efficiently process electronic invoices, resolving rejections or reductions promptly.
- Provide excellent client service to attorneys, clients, and Firm personnel.
- Collaborate effectively with billing, finance, and other Firm departments.
- Assist with special assignments and projects, such as testing and process improvements.
- Train and mentor new and less experienced billing staff.
- Manage billing operations for the Firm’s largest and most complex client relationships.
- Maintain administrative responsibilities, including green sheets, UDF updates, electronic submissions, and unallocated balances.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A minimum of five years of billing experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with the ability to use advanced Excel features.
