About the Role

The Senior Program Director (SPD) supervises multiple program directors, overseeing finances, staff development, program advocacy, compliance, and strategic planning. The SPD builds key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including funders, licensing agents, community leaders, participants, families, and staff, to ensure the successful operation of programs, the division, and the agency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent supervision, coaching, and feedback to site leadership and teams.
  • Oversee and continually strategize all operations of the program(s) to ensure enrollment, participation, and program goals are achieved.
  • Ensure the cost-effective delivery of high-quality services and smooth program operations.
  • Prepare for audits and meet with auditors from regulatory agencies, developing and implementing policy changes as needed.
  • Meet performance expectations and metrics defined for the position within the assigned program.
  • Communicate program aspects throughout the agency and oversee community engagement and outreach efforts.
  • Design, secure, and/or facilitate professional development experiences, including core divisional trainings, and ensure skills transfer through coaching and accountability.
  • Manage several Program Directors, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with agency policies and applicable laws.
  • Conduct interviews, hiring, planning, assigning work, rewarding, disciplining, conducting performance reviews, and resolving complaints and problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Public Administration or related field.
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ supervising staff.
  • Demonstrated competence in youth development, supervision, and training facilitation.
  • Working knowledge of community program administration and planning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
  • Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines, and multi-task.
  • Maintain regular, consistent, and professional attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance.
  • Adherence to relevant health & safety procedures.
  • Safe and successful performance, including meeting productivity standards.
  • Maintain an understanding of the principles, methods, and processes needed to perform the job.
  • Attend staff meetings, seminars, and in-service training as assigned.
  • Complete work in an acceptable manner with accuracy, neatness, thoroughness, and minimal errors.
  • Maintain established departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adherence to all HIPAA guidelines at all times.
  • Occasionally required to walk, sit for long periods, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk or hear.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May have to make multiple site visits throughout the day and week.
