About the Role
As a Charge RN, you will oversee a department of frontline nurses, advocating for your team while ensuring operational goals and objectives are met. You will be responsible for staff performance, unit management, and maintaining a therapeutic environment through effective communication and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision of nursing unit personnel
- Make and evaluate patient care assignments
- Facilitate patient throughput
- Observe staff performance during assigned shifts
- Proactively match resources to support staff and patient care
- Monitor productivity and align staffing with patient needs
- Communicate personnel concerns to the Unit Manager
- Apply systematic approaches to problem-solving
- Facilitate patient experience best practices such as hourly rounding
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience
- Active Kentucky Registered Nurse license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - CPR certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days
- ADN prepared RNs must enroll in a BSN program within 2 years and complete the degree within 5 years of start date
