About the Role

As a Charge RN, you will oversee a department of frontline nurses, advocating for your team while ensuring operational goals and objectives are met. You will be responsible for staff performance, unit management, and maintaining a therapeutic environment through effective communication and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision of nursing unit personnel
  • Make and evaluate patient care assignments
  • Facilitate patient throughput
  • Observe staff performance during assigned shifts
  • Proactively match resources to support staff and patient care
  • Monitor productivity and align staffing with patient needs
  • Communicate personnel concerns to the Unit Manager
  • Apply systematic approaches to problem-solving
  • Facilitate patient experience best practices such as hourly rounding

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience
  • Active Kentucky Registered Nurse license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - CPR certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days
  • ADN prepared RNs must enroll in a BSN program within 2 years and complete the degree within 5 years of start date
