About the Role
This recruitment is for current provisional employees in the 7322-Automotive Body And Fender Worker Assistant Supervisor classification. The role involves performing skilled work in the maintenance and repair of equipment bodies, exercising work direction over a crew, and performing related duties.
Responsibilities
- Supervises and participates in fabricating sheet metal parts for the repair or replacement of damaged motor vehicle and transit equipment bodies, fenders and radiators.
- Fabricates and repairs a variety of metal auxiliary equipment on motor vehicles.
- Supervises and participates in the straightening, replacement and repair of fenders, panels and other exterior parts of motor vehicle equipment.
- Assigns tasks and operates gas and electric welding equipment in the repair of bodies, frames and radiators on a variety of automotive equipment.
- Repairs metal bodies and frames on trolley coaches.
- Repairs and replaces windows, fenders and weather stripping on transit equipment.
Requirements
- Current Provisional Employee in Class 7322 who has worked at least 2,080 hours in class 7322.
- Requires completion of high school or equivalent.
- Requires completion of a recognized apprenticeship in the craft.
- Requires five years of experience as a journeyman auto body and fender worker.
- An equivalent combination of training and experience may be accepted.
- Applicants must fully complete the job application.
