About the Role
A Licensed Practical Nurse renders nursing care to patients within the Center or authorized community site, supporting medical care as directed by the medical staff and pursuant to the objectives and policies of the Center. This role involves performing job duties in compliance with systems and job-specific standards.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients and maintain medical records, including nursing observations, health history, vital signs, and medication details.
- Perform in-house laboratory tests and collect specimens for external labs, ensuring quality control.
- Complete and update all assigned tasks and logs.
- Initiate follow-up actions as directed by a provider, such as encounters and lab closures.
- Provide health teaching as indicated by physician diagnosis or patient inquiries, referring patients to a Registered Nurse when necessary.
- Collect patient data under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider; may not triage or independently interpret clinical data.
Requirements
- Valid New York State LPN License
- CPR Certification
- Infection Control Certification
