About the Role
This position focuses on managing various consumer research to better understand the North American market/consumer trends and consumer feedback on our products. The valuable insights gained from these studies will be applied to our marketing and sales strategies, as well as the development of innovative new products.
Responsibilities
- Initiate and oversee internal consumer and market research projects, including coordinating the logistical and technical aspects of research studies.
- Design and execute various consumer research studies, including focus group discussions (FGD), in-depth interviews (IDI), home usage tests (HUT), etc.
- Synthesize research data into insightful reports and compelling proposals that directly inform product and marketing decisions.
- Cultivate and maintain an active network with research partners.
- Attend customer research seminars, report main contents, and propose new customer research models.
- Continuously explore and integrate new research methodologies to stay at the forefront of consumer insights.
- Monitor and analyze consumer/market trends, including competitive brands' launches and consumer feedback, and generate related regular reports.
- Manage internal consumer research panels and utilize them to conduct consumer research.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Biology, Business, Marketing, Consumer or Market Research, Psychology, Statistics, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in consumer or market research, cosmetic product development, product evaluation, or a related field
- Experience designing or managing consumer studies, product testing, or cosmetic development projects
- Experience in the beauty, personal care, health, food, or consumer packaged goods industry preferred
- Experience working with external research agencies or testing partners preferred
Skills
- Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative consumer research methodologies
- Understanding of cosmetic product development and product evaluation processes
- Ability to translate business questions into appropriate research objectives and study designs
- Strong analytical, data interpretation, and insight-generation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong report-writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills
- Web- and literature-based research and summarization skills
- Strong project management, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Active networking and relationship-building skills
- Creative problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
