About the Role

VERG Brooklyn is seeking Veterinary Assistants to support our growing team and help save patients' lives daily. We are a leader in 24/7 advanced emergency and specialty veterinary care, dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art medicine in a diverse, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with diagnostic procedures and treatments.
• Ensure a safe, calm environment for patients.
• Obtain accurate patient histories from clients.
• Practice safe handling techniques of animal patients during exams and procedures.
• Collect diagnostic samples for in-house testing.
• Maintain a clean and organized hospital environment, including cleaning kennels and treatment areas.
• Restock supplies.
• Follow proper sanitation and sterilization protocols.
• Interact with clients, comfort patients, and collaborate with the team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support hospital care and efficiency.

Requirements

• Detail-oriented, quick-thinking, with strong clinical and communication skills.
• A love for animals and a passion for the veterinary field.
• Minimum of 1 year veterinary hospital experience.
• Ability to manage time and priorities with minimal direct supervision.
• Punctuality and exceptional attendance.
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
