One of Jump’s growing quantitative trading teams is looking to add a Technical Operations Systems Engineer to collaborate with researchers and technologists to evolve, improve, and maintain the trading team’s production infrastructure, ensuring smooth trading operations across global markets.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary US coverage for the team.
- Ensure strategies are connected to all markets.
- Ensure data is available in the right volume and format.
- Ensure the optimizer is running as scheduled.
- Manage the existing monitoring system.
- Act as the primary escalation point for error messages or jobs not running.
- Chase problems identified by the monitoring system to their source, identify bugs, and write fixes.
- Understand all processes overseen by the monitoring system and able to take a big-picture view of the business's operations.
- Participate in and ideally lead the building of any next-generation monitoring system.
- Establish and maintain a very high bar for uptime and robustness.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements
- Work experience in Python, Linux, Bash.
- Scripting in a 'get the system up and running' context.
- Ability to write patches, with an ideal candidate able to write patches to the encoder.
- Must be able to follow error messages to the source, identify the problem, and begin the fix, rather than forwarding errors to others.
- Ability to identify, propose, and automate improvements to existing processes.
- Prior experience in trading is preferred.
- Reliable and predictable availability.
