About the Role
The Home Shopping Department Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the Home Shopping Department, including order fulfillment, customer satisfaction, associate development, productivity, labor management, and operational execution. This position ensures customer orders are accurately selected, staged, and delivered or prepared for pickup in a timely manner while maintaining high service standards and achieving department performance goals.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the Home Shopping Department.
- Ensure customer orders are accurately selected, packed, staged, and completed within established service standards.
- Monitor department workflows to maximize productivity and order accuracy.
- Maintain organization and efficiency within fulfillment, staging, pickup, and delivery areas.
- Ensure all company programs, initiatives, and operational standards are properly executed.
- Coordinate daily staffing and operational priorities based on order volume and business needs.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and promote a customer-first culture.
- Ensure customers receive accurate, timely, and professional service for pickup and delivery orders.
- Resolve customer concerns, order issues, substitutions, and service recovery situations promptly.
- Monitor customer satisfaction metrics and implement improvement strategies as needed.
- Build customer loyalty through consistent execution and service excellence.
- Ensure associates select products according to quality, freshness, and substitution standards.
- Monitor order accuracy and fulfillment performance metrics.
- Verify that products meet company quality expectations before customer pickup or delivery.
- Ensure proper handling of temperature-sensitive, fresh, frozen, and perishable products.
- Maintain compliance with order fulfillment procedures and service commitments.
- Achieve department sales, productivity, and profitability goals.
- Monitor labor expenses and productivity metrics to ensure efficient operations.
- Analyze department reports and operational data to identify performance opportunities.
- Support strategies that increase customer adoption and retention of home shopping services.
- Manage department expenses and control operational costs.
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop Home Shopping associates.
- Establish clear expectations and accountability standards.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Foster teamwork, engagement, and a positive work environment.
- Develop future leaders and support succession planning efforts.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through proper fulfillment and substitution practices.
- Communicate inventory opportunities and out-of-stock concerns to store leadership.
- Partner with department managers to improve in-stock conditions and order completion rates.
- Monitor shrink and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Maintain a safe working environment for associates and customers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote safe work practices when selecting, handling, staging, and transporting products.
- Conduct routine inspections and address safety concerns promptly.
- Ensure proper use of department equipment and technology.
