About the Role

This role focuses on providing efficient and effective customer service, including new account opening, loan applications, and responding to inquiries. The Personal Banker will represent the Bank in community activities, develop new business, and demonstrate strong leadership skills with a desire for growth within the organization. Flexibility in working hours is expected to support customer service specialists and bank operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain customer and business relations through daily contact and proactive outreach.
  • Use a consultative sales approach to help customers achieve their financial goals.
  • Represent the Bank at community activities as requested.
  • Collaborate with the branch team to meet goals for loan, deposit, and service growth.
  • Assist other employees in achieving branch goals.
  • Answer customer questions and resolve problems concerning all bank products and services.
  • Ensure follow-up contact with customers within 24 hours.
  • Proactively learn about all bank products and services.
  • Complete onboarding activities for new customers.
  • Make outbound phone calls to existing and potential customers to promote products and promotions, scheduling appointments when possible.
  • Participate in mandatory compliance, staff development, and educational training.
  • Complete and forward Human Resource related documentation in a timely manner.
  • Open and close the branch, including drive-thru facilities, to ensure maximum customer accessibility.
  • Ensure all daily activities comply with internal controls and bank policies.
  • Work as a customer service specialist when requested.
  • Interview consumer loan applicants, gather required information, and explain loan options, rates, terms, and collateral requirements.
  • Qualify loans by running credit reports, analyzing information, and verifying details with creditors, applicants, and employers.
  • Request and follow up on additional information required for loan applications.
  • Cross-sell bank products to customers via lobby, telephone, and potential customers outside of work hours.
  • Assist in the development of mortgage customers by visiting realtors to promote mortgage products.
  • Travel to other branch locations to provide staffing efficiency as needed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the branch.
  • Maintain a professional image at all times through proper hygiene and business attire.
  • Represent the Bank positively by providing exceptional customer service.
  • Refer appropriate candidates for employment opportunities.
  • Perform any other assigned duties.

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere and professional working relationships.
  • Interact professionally with employees, board members, customers, and external vendors.
  • Act in accordance with the Lake Shore Bank Code of Ethics Policy.
