About the Role
The Maintenance Engineer Helper/C reports to the Chief Engineer and assists with equipment and building repairs and upkeep for laundry processing within the Century Linen service center. This position supports Journeyman and Apprentice mechanics in scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the performance of mechanical preventive maintenance on process and facility equipment
- Assist the Journeyman and Apprentice mechanics as necessary
- Assist in inventorying of spare parts, and chase parts as directed
- Maintain and record daily utility consumption meter readings
- Perform basic repairs on non-mechanical equipment such as carts and slings
- Perform routine building maintenance such as painting, lighting, and general clean-up of shop areas, production floor, and property yard
- Update equipment records on all maintenance performed
Requirements
- Proven track record of consistent attendance and ability to manage a nightly workflow independently
- Prior experience operating a scissor lift or willingness to be trained and certified
- Ability to work around large manufacturing equipment and use industrial cleaning tools (compressed air, sanitation chemicals)
- Ability to stand for the duration of the shift
- Ability to climb ladders
- Constant walking throughout the service center
- Carrying of tools and equipment of up to 50 pounds on occasion
