About the Role

The Asset Protection Electrician provides leadership, standardization, and innovation to maintain operational safety and productivity, while implementing continual improvements. This role supports the reliability of asset protection systems and EHS across the plant.

Responsibilities

• Installation and maintenance of Fire/Hazard Detection and Suppression systems
• Conduct hazard audits across the plant
• Provide support for breakdowns outside normal working hours
• Assist Engineers/Project Managers with project commissioning
• Train, mentor, and guide fellow craftsmen
• Follow up on reoccurring problems to improve reliability, including design changes
• Collaborate with vendors on specific equipment
• Assist with Electrical documentation (DCN’s, etc.)
• Work with planners/schedulers to ensure adequate spares are on site and in BOM
• Develop/Update and publish JIs, Checklists, PMs
• Assist with predictive and precision maintenance
• Enter time on WO’s, notifications, and TECO WO’s with notes
• Occasionally assist other maintenance teams with project installs and manpower needs
• Provide site support for periodic loss prevention visits and audits
• Attend certification training on system installation and applicable NYS Code
• Support other plants in similar disciplines if needed

Requirements

• Greater than 1 year of experience
• Current Pay Grade 7 preferred (or higher)
• Able to work well with others one on one & in groups/team settings
• Receptive to feedback/input from process, operations, engineering, peers etc.
• Good communication skills
• Demonstrates ability to transfer knowledge to others
• Demonstrates passion and enthusiasm for improving equipment reliability

Skills

• Fiber Optic communications repair and maintenance preferred
