About the Role
Assemble mattresses using pneumatic tools and various specified materials. Inspect components and finished units for defects. This role is part of a safety-focused, fast-paced manufacturing plant engaged in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement.
Responsibilities
- Assemble mattresses as outlined in established work instructions using a variety of pneumatic tools (e.g., c-ring hog-ring guns, staple guns, hot glue guns).
- Assemble Hot Melt Bond (HMB) units on the HMB machine.
- Apply various, specified upholstered layers to HMB and open coil units.
- Assemble foam-encased pocketed coil units.
- Apply specified upholstery layers.
- Perform foam encasing and final mattress assembly.
- Inspect mattress components and finished units for unacceptable flaws or structural defects.
Requirements
- Must stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours per day or longer in overtime situations.
- Must be able to lift heavy product or raw materials up to 120 pounds multiple times per hour during an 8-hour shift or longer in overtime situations.
- Heavy loads must be team-lifted.
- Must be able to comprehend and follow work instructions and production tickets.
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal instructions.
- Must communicate with coworkers and management clearly and respectfully.
- Must work in an ever-changing, fast-paced team environment.
- Employees are required to comply with COVID policies established by a vendor or customer.
