About the Role

Nomura's Credit Exposure Management Risk team is responsible for managing and mitigating counterparty risks from financing and derivative portfolios. The team manages collateral and contingent risk for businesses like Prime Services and Repo Financing, and provides risk and margin analysis for OTC derivatives trading. The primary focus is on Prime Brokerage and Financing Businesses, with support for fixed income derivatives trading.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and approve client margin rules and set risk limits in collaboration with the Prime Brokerage business and Credit Risk.
  • Monitor Prime Brokerage client portfolios against key metrics and take corrective action for risks outside firm appetite.
  • Conduct pre-trade risk analysis for financing and OTC trades to support approval decisions.
  • Perform quantitative counterparty risk exposure analysis for Financing & derivatives trading, including VaR Margin and regulatory bilateral margin rules.
  • Present contingent risk views to Credit Risk, Front Office, and in management forums.
  • Assist in developing globally consistent analytics and reporting standards.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in Prime Brokerage and/or Equities coverage in a Market Risk role.
  • Broad knowledge of a range of asset classes and their derivatives, with in-depth knowledge of equities.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Appreciation of client business and motivations.
  • Expert level proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Good general knowledge and understanding of current macro-economic trends.
  • Ability to work independently, motivated to learn, and drive for success.
  • Previous experience in fixed income derivatives & cash products (Desirable).
  • Programming Skills e.g. VBA, SQL, Python etc. (Desirable).
  • Further Financial Education e.g. CFA, MBA, etc. (Desirable).
